I joined Mortgage Link Manawatu in 1996 after working in the banking sector for 10 years. In 2000 I became a co-owner and Director of Mortgage Link Manawatu.

The reason I moved into Mortgage Broking was to have the ability to offer clients a far greater range of mortgage lenders and products. It’s very satisfying being able to correctly match the loan type and lender to the clients circumstance and requirements.

In 2010, 2011 & 2012 I received the ‘Highest Individual Producer’ award for the Mortgage Link New Zealand group and in 2010 I was awarded the ‘Individual of the Year’ award.

I am a member of the Professional Advisers Association (PAA) formerly the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association (NZMBA) and I have served three years on the Executive Committee. In the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 (runner-up), 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 I was the Central North Island regional winner for the NZMBA ‘Mortgage Broker of the Year’ award. In those years I was a finalist in the NZMBA overall ‘Mortgage Broker of the Year’ award and in 2008 achieved the First Runner-up award.

While I provide clients advice on all types of mortgage finance it’s always satisfying to help first home buyers. A recent client I helped was finding it difficult to finance their first home due to a large car hire purchase. Fortunately I was able to restructure the hire purchase into a much more manageable loan (and at a better interest rate). This allowed the clients to afford and qualify for a home loan.

Another area I am experienced in and have a personal interest in is residential rental investment. I have built up an excellent level of knowledge in this field and am able to advise clients on complicated issues regarding loan structuring and ownership entities.

I thoroughly enjoy helping clients and seeing their financial situation grow over time. It’s a real thrill to see a client achieve their goals.

In my spare time I enjoy tramping, running, playing most sports badly and developing my lifestyle property.
